My path to becoming a counsellor was far from traditional. Arriving in Canada at 18, I followed the expected trajectory—pursuing a degree and starting a business. However, I soon found myself in a moral dilemma. While I enjoyed the business world, I felt a void, selling more than just products. It was a turning point that led me on a profound journey.
In my earlier years, I grappled with undiagnosed dyslexia in a time and place where little was understood about such challenges. Excelling in mathematics and biology but being discouraged due to struggles with Chinese literature and art instilled a fear of pursuing certain paths. Despite a deep fascination with psychology, I initially veered towards business, even opening a selective fashion buyer store. Yet, I felt a disconnection between what I was doing and what I truly believed in.
A pivotal moment came when I confronted this dissonance, leading me to retrace my steps back to psychology. I completed my undergraduate degree and continued a post-graduate study in clinical counselling psychology. This was my turning point, merging my innate curiosity with a genuine desire to help others navigate their own challenges.
Today, I'm embarking on a new chapter in my career and the art of healing. My journey, rife with personal and professional metamorphoses, has led me to this moment—to create a space where individuals can explore their own paths to healing and self-discovery.
Thank you for considering me as a companion on your journey. I'm here to listen, understand, and guide you toward a more fulfilling and authentic life.
